Spare Shooting Keeping me in games

Thursday, July 3, 2008, 10:23 PM EST [General]

Tonight, I shot 159-176-178-147.  I had lots of trouble striking consistently, but the one thing I was able to rely on was my spare shooting.  I must've shot over 90 percent tonight on that.  Not a bad night.  I just tried to keep the ball around the pocket and give myself opportunities to pick up my spares.  After all spares is the name of the game.  That is one thing I have been doing better and better on this sport shot is making my makable spares.

One bad game doesn't ruin night

Thursday, June 26, 2008, 10:45 PM EST [General]

I made a slight change in my game tonight.  Interesting enough I tried to throw the ball a little more end over end until later on where I had to hook the ball.  I started out real strong with a 191 which only had one split that I opened on.  Second game,  I bowled a 166 followed by a 180.  Last game sucked, I split 4 times and finished with a 131.  That was my 2nd lowest game of the summer.  All and all I did good, and most importantly learned a lot.

    2nd day of State Tourney

Sunday, June 22, 2008, 06:58 PM EST [General]

Didn't do as well in the state tournament as I hoped.  Started with a battery dying lol then had a tough day in day 1.  Day 2, I did a little better.  In the doubles event, I bowled a 190-155-189 for a total of 534.  I found the lanes very touchy.  In the singles event, I didn't do as well but finished very strong.  I got 144-136-224 for 504.  I shot 1038 for the day which is better then the 475 from the day before.  For the two days I bowled a 1513 which is a 2 day average of 168.  Better luck next time!!!

    First Day at States

Sunday, June 22, 2008, 07:12 AM EST [General]

    First Day at States
While driving down to states on Friday June 20th, wouldn't you know it, my car's battery decides to go at a Port St. Lucie gas station.  A guy gives me a jump so I can get to Boynton Beach.  I finally arrived about 7:15pm.  Saturday, in team competition, I didn't fare to well.  I started game 1 with 4 strikes in a row but things changed very quickly.  I bowled 187-144-144 big ouch.  There is a lot more to this tournament then just bowling.  I met 2 third cousins I have never met Jamie and Jared.  I also go to see 2nd cousins, Arlene and Sandy I haven't seen in years.  I am staying at Sandy's house for the tournament.  Afterwards the team went out and we had an awesome time watching UFC and eating food at this sports bar in Jupiter.  Better luck today in singles and doubles.

    Rough night!!!

Thursday, June 19, 2008, 10:18 PM EST [General]

Well what can I say.  It did not go as well as I hoped tonight.  I shot 152-175-164-156 for a total of 647.  Not terrible but not stellar.  Tonight was like trying to hit a moving target lol.  Anways, hopefully things go better in states, and I do good.  Take care.
